Spend two days - with the option of staying overnight - in the woods, learning a range of bushcraft skills and techniques!

Course description:

This course is an introduction to bush craft over two days (and a night!) in the woods. We start by walking into the woods with the instructors Stu Cook and Ben Salt, to make introductions and establish group camaraderie. Once in the woods, we will run through the wide range of bushcraft options available and develop a broad plan for the period of this course. Stu and Ben have extensive experience and are happy to tailor a course around the group's preferences, so every course will be unique in this regard!

Here are a range of options to whet your appetite and get your bushcraft head working! We offer firelighting techniques and top down fires (cake tins provided to make a meal!); shelter construction (natural shelters; hammocks; tarp shelters); water filtration; whittling; cordage and useful knots; friction fire lighting; preparing and cooking game; backwoods cooking without utensils, and much more!

This is a wonderful way to learn an extensive range of bushcraft skills within a woodland envenvironnment.

What do you need to know: No prior experience required. This course is ideal for those who want to learn more about bushcraft and woodlands more widely, from two very experienced, knowledgeable and friendly instructors!

What to bring on the day: All tools, food and materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own. A starter bushcraft kit of knife, fire lighting implements that you will use over the weekend are also yours to take away at the end of the course. All you need to bring is appropriate clothing, footwear and equipment to overnight in the woods if you wish to do so (tent OR hammock (with tarp shelter if using hammock); sleeping bag; roll mat - we will provide a full list of recommended kit in advance of the course date).
