This is a 2 day dry-stone walling improvers course, designed for people with some experience of dry stone walling or have attended one of the Board's Beginners courses.

Course Description: This course looks to build on the skills developed on the beginners course and aims to provides participants with a practical understanding of some of the more challenging techniques of building dry-stone walls. During the course students will have opportunity to further practice the skills that were taught on the beginners course as well as learning how to build a cheek end (end of the wall) along with other more advanced skills of dry-stone walling.

What do you need to know: To book onto the improvers course you must already have taken the beginners dry stone walling course or have the previous experience of dry stone walling.

Instructor: Jonathan Bendle is a self-employed landscape gardener, dry stone walling specialist and instructor. He has been teaching dry stone walling and lime mortar courses for many years. As well as teaching courses for the Cotswolds Conservation Board he also teaches at the Royal Agricultural College and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

What to bring on the day: All tools and materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own walling hammer and gloves. You will need to bring: appropriate clothing, hard wearing footwear and a packed lunch.
