This is a 2 day dry-stone walling improvers course, ideal for people with some experience of dry stone walling or have attended one of the Board's Beginners courses.

Course Description: This course looks to build on the skills developed on the beginners course and aims to provides participants with a practical understanding of some of the more challenging techniques of building dry-stone walls. During the course students will have opportunity to further practice the skills that were taught on the beginners course as well as other more advanced skills of dry-stone walling. We deliberately limit the number of trainees on this course to eight people in order to enable the instructor to spend more time with each trainee and tailor the course to the different ability levels within the group.

What do you need to know: To book onto the improvers course you must already have taken the Dry stone walling for beginners course or have some previous experience of dry stone walling.

Instructor: Kath Wright is a LANTRA Advanced Level Dry-stone Waller will many years experience working and teaching in the Cotswolds. Besides instructing on courses for the Board, Kath also teaches for the Dry-stone Walling Association of Great Britain.

What to bring on the day: All tools and materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own walling hammer and gloves. You will need to bring: appropriate clothing, hard wearing footwear and a packed lunch.
